BIANCHETTO: ATELIER EXPERIENCE
As part of MaisonMargiela/folders, we explore Bianchetto, the white overpaint technique introduced by the House in 1989 through which surfaces are transformed into a blank canvas. Applied to garments, objects, and interiors, the paint naturally cracks and fades over time, gradually revealing visible signs of use.
Participants at our atelier experience in Shenzhen are invited to wear the blouse blanche — the white lab coat worn by our team in the ateliers and offices in Paris — and apply the technique to their own garments.
