I love sacred languages & symbols // the idea that meaning can survive millennia if the form is right.
the script is koine greek :: pulled from the rosetta stone :: the key that cracked the hieroglyphs + unlocked ancient egypt. co-creating this vision with Pierre was one of the most fun creative experiences of my life ;; // & it deepened my understanding of how lines on body can move and flow

i spent the past year trying to get facial feminization surgery. i set out last march. everyone's transition is different ;; and timelines too. i felt like for the first time in my life; i was in a good enough place with myself; my job; my home; my friends; my chosen family to go thru this process. that of which; i am so thankful for to even have the support systems in place to do this.
for a year; i spent on hold with insurance; with doctor's office; jumping thru hoops to get this letter faxed (HOW ARE WE STILL FAXING IN 2026) to the right person or why it was missing or re-doing labs etc. it is not a big deal; but when it's always one more thing and one more step and waiting on approval for other people for things // the things that kinda hold your entire life in their balance -- it's alot.
waiting to hear back if my company would approve my surgery request (they did); waiting to get an appointment; waiting to get a surgery date; all of it tore me apart. shredded and shedding layers (year of snake) that finally needed to happen.
in january; i went to bali to get sober, quit smoking, & mentally clear my head (because if u have drugs straight to jail); prepare my body & workout, yoga, surfing eating clean; and most importantly -- my mind ----// for the next chapter. the unknown.
what i love about this photo so much my beautiful friend capture for me is -- the relief.
the relief all the admin & hoops are done; and now can just heal & come out on the other side.
with everything going on in world; i just find solace in my community -- the check''s in with my friends; the people i love, and knowing that i'm absolutely cooking something up while i'm in recovery that i'm excited to share.
as my body heals and things take shape; i will be going thru the #vivaa archives to finally post & share a lot of things i kept bottled up; projects put off; things I wanted to do -- but didnt have the energy for. but now that i have nothing but time; i'm excited to close out this artistic chapter; so i can focus on the next one.
