Working in the cold... (wip)
I'm just going to assume if Matt Reeves does make a Mr. Freeze and makes him more grounded, bet he would be a version where is he disfigured due to his body covered in frostbite from being trapped in a cool room at a slaughter house he worked at trying to work nights to cover the bills and take care of his sick wife.... 🥲👌
My version of a grounded Mr. freeze would be somebody who is kidnapping, homeless people to experiment with cryogenic formulas and methods, and leaving his failed experiments dumped off on the street all over town. Some of them are frozen, some missing body parts, other injected with cryogenic liquids. He is still desperately searching to save his wife Nora, which is what drives his obsessive experimentation. In his pursuit of treatment He disregards any life other than his wife’s he starts with the homeless, then moves to people with money, or those he feels have wronged him, then eventually anyone. Even if/when she dies, the obsession continues, switching to needing to know if he could have saved her. Basically following heart of ice with some grounded differences in his approach. Kind of like killer in the first season of Dexter i suppose.
I really don't see Mr Freeze working in this universe. Grounded or not hes going to have to have a gun that freezes people. And thats just too fantastical for a grounded batman.
