One Christmas, while I was home and in between jobs,
@iamasurf invited me over with the promise of Christmas rice & chicken (very cheap bribe I know 🥹🥹🥹) and proceeded to show me a pitch and a script snippet of what he was working on and I was instantly hooked! Even though we had another project pending,
@3colddishes @3colddishes.fr stayed on my mind. When I finally got the full script, I told myself I’d read just five pages and I ended up finishing it in the same seating.
From that moment, two things got fixed:
Budget or not, I had to be part of this
I needed to be wary of the one that wet my appetite and tricked me into this long beautiful journey with food that he didn’t cook 🙄🙄🙄
Fast-forward through Covid travel bans, crew swaps, casting and recasting, smuggling ourselves across border to see how feasible the scenario he created with the writer
@tomiadesina is, it’s been “A LOT”. But a fulfilling “A LOT”
Somewhere along the way, I went from being just a hired crew to Co–Executive Producer, because when you believe in something, you put your money where your “mouth” is 😁😁😁
