Original Knit We leveled up our knitting machine skills today. Our energetic learners created their own original 8-bit style designs and then made them. Mind you, one of the boys is just 7 years old!!! We are nurturing the next generation of independent thinkers and creators at Skylabworkshop! Ca fait un moment que je n’ai pas posté ici… Let’s comeback pour les 5 ans de Monochrome ! J’avais envie de partager l’envers du décor de ce nouvel artwork, Tout à commencé en mai 2025, avec comme demande de la team qui était de réaliser des éléments graphiques, pour qu’ils aient une boite à outils à leur disposition. Finalement, cela a amené à des questionnements plus large sur l’évolution de l’identité de Monochrome, en elle même. Travailler sur la typographie a été le point de départ, dans cette approche de “recyclage graphique”. Elle se déconstruit et reconstruit, apportant un nouveau rythme au sein de ce language codé. Pour la mise en page, ca été un échange de fichiers et de versions de test avec Axel, ou le contenu est venu prendre partit des choix graphiques pour les deux évènements. Le but étant que les formes qui se dessinent ne viennent en rien se figer, mais au contraire. Elles deviennent un jeux d’échanges ou à leur tour, Monochrome, peuvent les utiliser avec leur propre language et sensibilité. Ce qui a été le cas, la dernière version ayant été réalisée par eux même. Merci bonjourmonde pour le logiciel open source et Jonjon avec Python dans les débuts. et un grand merci à Axel pour les échanges et sa confiance. Finally, Sometimes things need time before to see the light. Time to share my teaser video of final project /if/ collaboration with mikrós bíos made during @fabricademy in 2023. PART 1 - Mycelium & Kombucha It’s an invitation to travel through a world of research and transmission. /if/ is a variable, questionning ourself about a sustainable past, present and future. The project is dedicated to the mycelium, the underground part of fungi, and SCOBY of Kombucha which is a Bacteria Cellulosic. Focusing on the exploration of different techniques, to understand their properties, and to create new mediums, made with living organism, and local, low-energy resources goals.
