The Niagara clog and Tashmoo slide are the latest releases of the ongoing Crocs x Salehe Bembury collaboration. We worked together again on a series of hero films revealing the new colourways. Here’s the first, inspired by the magnificent fish of the Great Lakes.

@googledeepmind - Visualising AI
We partnered with Google Deepmind to visualise one of their core AI safety technologies - the watermarking SynthID tool.
As AI models get better at generating creating photo-real images, it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to tell the real from the AI generated. This can lead to widespread misinformation and real-world consequences on trust in media, markets and society at large.
For the technology to be used responsibly, the ability to tell what is real and what is generated by AI is crucial.
This is where SynthID comes in: the tool embeds images generated by AI models with a watermark which is imperceptible to the human eye, but when passed through it’s detection, can be identified as AI-generated. Regardless of whether the image has been modified, the watermark can still be detected, as long as it was implemented when the image was generated. This kind of watermarking goes beyond image content, and can also be applied to AI-generated text, video and audio content.
Tools like this are especially important for news and social media platforms to become more technologically responsible, by being able to verify content as AI-generated.
The visuals we created follow the story of AI content being generated, embedded with an invisible watermark, and then later scanned and detected as AI-generated by the identification tool. This commission was part of Deepmind’s “Visualising AI” project, creating new visuals for more nuanced imagery about AI than the current stereotypes.

At Zünc Studio, we’re venturing into increasingly strange territory with our internal project CAMERA LUCIDA - exploring the aesthetics and philosophy of the tools that define vision.
This VR experience fundamentally warps your sense of embodiment. When you put on the headset and move your head, you inhabit the perspective of a 360-degree camera rather than your own physical form. You retain full agency over your viewpoint, yet the reflection staring back from the mirrors isn’t yours.
We’ll dive deeper into this R&D in our next post.
Interrogating the apparatus of image-making.

The design of the watch itself is inspired by the movement of water, helping inform the narrative of the film we crafted. From the quiet anticipation of ripples to a dramatic crown splash, we found water an endless source of inspiration. Mesmerising forms and movements were captured alongside the watch itself, to create a launch film celebrating the timepiece as well as the substance that inspired its organic forms.
