This marks the first time that one of my pieces was on display during Art Basel, which has been a goal for many years. However, what I’m most proud of with this painting is how I attempted to capture a time period that is long gone, but is still felt just as intensely. I listened to a lot of front porch concerts & old gogo on YouTube while working on this piece because i wanted to be taken back to my childhood, when MySpace was king, and we edited our photos with a dozen flares and stars on our ears like our jewelry was sparkling, when Solbiato was basically Gucci and all I wanted was a Hugo Boss polo to pop the collar on… these years have passed, but they still live vividly in my imagination, and that’s why this painting exists.
1: I think this is technically my first hoodie design? Shoutout to you if you have one, I just found 2 in my studio
2: ummmm I was just trying this one out, lowkey messed up a lil bit… but it’s a sample 1:1 size medium
3: okay I was just playing around at this point, didn’t necessarily want to make anything that I didn’t actually like… but is also a sample, but you gotta scroll to the bottom of my site
4 & 5: these my favorite hoodies rn idc… I just made a brown version, but I’ve been wearing the black & crimson version all season
