In a community where the “loudest” dancers get the most attention... I suggest something different. Perhaps social dancing is a pure connection between partners and in a perfect dancing world, we focus on enjoying/playing. This is what I remember pre-covid… and it seems most dancers were happiest then, where there was no pressure to “perform”. Let’s bring it back.

What do you focus on when social dancing at the moment?
92% Urban/Sensual + a touch of nostalgia… (Homage to 90s/2000s (no hip hop, more like R&B dance-able vibezzz).
Been DJing since 2015, and the crowd/music tastes keep changing. Not everyone will be satisfied all the time… so I say if you’re a dancer and you don’t like a song… just take a break, eat a taco, or dance other dances!!
Jackie will be celebrating her Zoukchata birthday!!!! So happy to have her here the past years — this year is no exception. She has unwaivering support and I’m all for it. Super-super nice and a complete joy to be around. Honored to celebrate here!!!
2 hour Intensive Saturday!!!!! RSVP with me before Saturday 2pm for the list!!! Super excited to be teaching new techniques with connection and movements. It’s crazy to see how far we’ve gone even in the last year and I’m highly motivated to teach the ways of Zoukchata. The style we’re mainly focusing on is Sensual, but we also throw in some Zouk, Salsa, and Tango elements, aka “fusion”. Make sure you take breaks and stay hydrated!
“Dumb. Stupid. Crazy. Dangerous”. Honestly, Saved By the Bell taught so many lessons in life … not going to Zoukchata is a mistake anybody can make… this video outlines this and I’d really like to encourage anyone who has this problem to come out… you’ll feel better at the end. I pray for you.
the biga$$ AC unit is going. He’s gonna show you a good time all night trying to keep it cool.. In the event he’s not good enough, you can always go outside to the same sounds as indoors… soft’ish Bachata music will be playing — so you’ll def be able to dance under the starzzz. The terrace is hella-Low-key underrated space … no other place has this amenity and it’s insane to me how amazing it’ll be during the summer even if cool indoors ❤️

Viktor and Mika will be teaching an Open Level Zouk class!!! If you’ve ever wondered about the origins of Zoukchata, alot has to do with Zouk. We do our best to keep Zouk alive (since 2015?!) even when it’s in a slump.
These 2 up and coming artists are carving their own path in the community. They dance everything and have a good understanding of each dance, so it helps to have them at Zoukchata. Don’t forget to social dance with them in Bachata, Zouk, or Salsa!!!
