a pdf video of a book I made titled Obscure Address - it was one result from my PhD project which I finished this year. The book includes 9 video works. The idea was to make a 'book-site' where you could move from the space of the page through portals into the online archive of the moving image/audio pieces, in the crude form of QR codes. The maintaining of the crude. An exploded appendix.

New one: Elemental Breaks will be streaming throughout @sonorities festival as part of their collaboration with IICSI’s 7th annual Improvisation Festival - it’s a 24hour stream from Wednesday 15th - Saturday 18th April so dig in as and when suits your life.
Performed and recorded on the loughshore, this work somewhat constitutes the beginning of a more sprawling body with the current title Shifting Premises, where tidal obsession, unavoidable hauntings and what one carries to a place meet as wreckage on Triassic rock trace. Soil, sand, salt and silt. The 2nd epoch of recombination. Stream on Sonorities website.

The black tomato has been an obsession and the main shift this year has been having room to grow and nurture. An opportunity not to be taken lightly.

Recently received a copy of the ‘Sons do Fim do Mundo’ (Sounds of the End of the World) book from Brazil, which includes a very short text from me along with a video work using phone footage of performance at the conference of the same name in Rio in 2023 and from Light Beams Under a Bridge at King’s Cross, London in the same year.
Been really taken with how clips from recent My Bloody Valentine gigs sounded through the phone - blown out, unable to handle the excess, some elements cutting through, other's buried, dislocation and nostalgia. Can't listen to those records at the moment, (including a first press of You made Me Realise which I got as part of a redundancy package when the record shop I was working in closed in 2007)), as I blew my speakers jamming through my hifi when we still lived in London. I'm not sure how this relates to that, but I've recently been digging the Decimate effect from Soundhack while continuing with on the fly composition curtesy of Koala app.
Now living somewhere I didn't expect to live, this beach, only traversable a few hours a day, has become a place of dis and re-orientation as waves of suppressed grief break the surface.
Consequently there'll be more of these as I excavate joints from the last few years.
