Throwback of almost 10 years ago. I took this photo out of curiosity, playing with movement and light without thinking too much about it. Funny how time gives us a moment to reflect on our life when it’s captured. One of the reasons I started to focus on photography.
From Wagon Square to Future Design. The Haarlemmerpoort, once Amsterdam’s “Wagon Square” in 1840, was a place of movement and cultural exchange. Today, bridging historic heritage with modern fashion.

As an adoptee, feeling connected to your own culture you were born into but raised outside of is a lifelong journey. You live between two worlds, never fully belonging in one or the other. But today, in this place, I felt more connected. A thread pulled taut between past and present for a moment.
With this series, I want to introduce Mei Hua, my best friend and sister by heart, even before we had our Dutch names. We grew up together in the same orphanage, adopted into different lives. Our bond goes deeper than our past, a matching tattoo or heritage. It’s in our intention to return to China together, to be continued.

My very first running shoot as a photographer with @rakebaccal and @fiannasafina Run & Rise: “ A wellness experience for womxn, with running at its core. A blend of movement, mindfulness, and community.” Held at @animahousee “ it’s a space to move freely, breathe deeply, and truly belong. No pressure, just presence.
