Dawid Stępień’s Superhero reframes the hero as an ordinary figure pushed to the edge of physical and emotional endurance. Based in Łódź, Poland and created at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, the project moves through tension between construction and deconstruction, protection and exposure, volume and reduction. The first look speaks to resistance and overload, while the second turns toward surrender and release, questioning how much can be given before the self begins to dissolve.
