Every day I still get DM's about the impact of this book and everytime it makes me emotional 😭 because I wrote it with a picture on my wall of the mother I wanted to help.
The woman doing it all, holding everyone but herself, desperate to a good mother but feeling like she's failing at every turn. I wrote it for her, because that was once me, and I believe every mother deserves to know the the path to a different way. A new way - even in our world of endless expectations.
Have you read it??? If not, what are you doing 😜 get your copy as an early Mother's Day present to yourself
In motherhood we’re always looking forward: the next milestone or stage but take a moment to look back at how far you’ve come and you’ll be amazed ✨✨✨✨
You’re doing so much better than you think - promise ❤️
We need more leaders like @vanessakingori who would promote women whilst on maternity at Vogue.

You matter. So much more than you realise ❤️
I used to think motherhood was about forgetting about myself to give everything to my child.
Now I realise it’s about caring about myself just as deeply.
The truth is: When we support ourselves: ask for help and have the courage to say we’re struggling, we’re supporting our children too

If you want to know how, read my book Motherkind: A new way to thrive in a world of endless expectations
PS. these aren't my words, but can't find who they are attributed to, so if anyone knows tag them and I'll update xx
This week, I’m joined by the incredible @vanessakingori OBE. This is one of my favourite episodes ever!! I absolutely loved talking to Vanessa.
We talk about the impossible standards placed on working mothers, the hidden strengths motherhood gives women that workplaces still massively undervalue, why women are still taught to hide motherhood at work, and why we desperately need to bring men into the parenting conversation in a completely different way.
Vanessa also shares what it was like becoming pregnant whilst leading one of the biggest jobs in media, the comments she received, and how she quietly started changing workplace culture for the women around her.
This conversation made me feel deeply validated, hopeful, emotional and honestly just very seen. I think it will do the same for so many of you.

If you have NO idea what it’s like to….
Drop your child at nursery in tears, be in tears yourself then take a deep breath, wipe your eyes, try to be ignore the pain in your heart (that actually feels like it’s breaking) and paste on a smile for the first meeting of the day….
Leg it to the tube breathless, heart pounding mentally counting the stops and minutes, to get to nursery for the 6pm deadline (all because someone with no deadline couldn’t be bothered to run the meeting properly)…
Reply to a critical contract with one hand whilst pushing the swing with another…
Already have done 3 hours work before you get to actual work…
Run through every opportunity, every meeting, every trip through the lens of “How will this impact the kids? Can we sort childcare?”
Skip the after meeting drinks to rush back for bedtime, only to get home to tears and drama and wish maybe you’d stayed at the drinks.
Feel the gut punch of little grubby fingers wrapped around smart trousers with a “don’t go mummy” then 5 minutes later had to muster sky high levels of enthusiasm to close the deal.
Then I don’t want your career or business advice, because you don’t understand my reality.
Personally I am completely over business and career advice that ignores caregiving and any responsibilities outside revenue and progression.
