One of the great honors of my career is to have been included in Midnight Moment in March 2014. optional features shown played on 23 screens then and the program has grown and grown since. It is such a privilege to see this book 10 years later and be in the company of so many incredible artists. Many thanks to @tsqarts @sherrydobbin @_jeanie_c @lucyscribbles and many others who made this possible. Book is out this week with @monacellipress and @phaidonpress 🫧☀️🌈🕛 #contemporaryart #videoart #timessquare #midnightmoment

This week's conversation on the Substack is with Zach Nader. In our conversation, we discuss what it means to throw sand in the gears of image automation, how to locate the self in a hyperimaged world, and machines with no need for human input. @znader /p/eat-the-camera

Taking Jack Goldstein’s 1972 “A Glass of Milk” as a starting point, green paint becomes the milk in this performance as a cascade of images pour through the glass, table, body, and floor. A dreamy, looping, idyllic narrative bubbles out of the noise of image production and circulation. Their violence and beauty collapse into each other, as the rhythmic pounding of the table pushes forward. exerpt from A glass of noise, 4k single-channel video, color, sound, 3 minutes 40 seconds, 2026

LightLoupe continues at @adelphiu in the Klapper Art Gallery M-F from 10-6 and on Saturdays from 10-2. Here’s a view of the show and a few details. 🪴🪴📸📸🐌🐌☁️☁️ —- This LightLoupe showroom, much like the underlying technology, can be a bit confusing: a mix of slick products, overwhelmed workers, and a sense of imminent collapse. The showroom is run by a team of Viewers — brightly colored rocks with faces that are often contorting under the burden of their constant watching. They are hopeful that LightLoupe can ease that stress, so they are here to sell, answer your questions, and maintain the showroom. LightLoupe is a plug and play security system of plants, software, and planters. Trade-ins of your old security systems are encouraged. Here is what they say about themselves: We use the ancient recording techniques of plants alongside our bespoke AI to combine everyday houseplants with our LightLoupe system of planters to monitor and defend what you value. Our team of botanists and engineers know that plants see and record everything around them. LightLoupe interprets that data, giving you realtime metrics, historical insights, and even glimpses into the future.  Before LightLoupe, security systems were bulky and obtrusive and our plants refused to share their insights. No more! Get rid of ugly box cameras and convoluted setups. We give you the flexibility to fill your home with any plants you desire. Simply select a LightLoupe planting system that fits your lifestyle, and bring us a plant or allow us to make a recommendation. We handle the rest and our LightLoupe App gives you access to everything your plant sees. We’ve long known plants are cameras, but until now realtime data and predictive qualities were inaccessible to the public. Now, we harness natural technologies to keep you, your space, and your loves safe and secure. @adelphiart

LightLoupe is now open @adelphiu in the Klapper Art Gallery M-F from 10-6 and on Saturdays from 10-2. I hope you can join me for the opening on Wednesday, November 12, from 4-6pm. Message me with any questions. Info on the show below. Thanks to everyone in @adelphiart for helping this all come together.
