🎨#작업일지 - 1.한계점 : 작업이 익숙해진다 싶을 때면 어김없이 새로운 한계에 부딪혔다. 마치 정해진 공식처럼. 그런 다이내믹이 반갑고 즐거웠다. 그 끝에 늘 새로운 배움이 있다는 걸 알고 있고, 모든 경험이 다음 작업에 영양을 공급해줄 밑거름이 될 것을 믿기 때문에. 2. SNS 열심히 만든 창작물을 제대로 알리고 싶은 마음은 누구나 같다. 내 작업을 이 전쟁 같은 SNS에 자주 노출한다는 건 -즉, PR 콘텐츠를 따로 만들고 알고리즘의 축복을 기다린다는 건- 퍽 성가시고 번잡하며, 솔직히 그림을 그리는 것보다 어렵다. 그럼에도 불구하고 애써 시도하는 건, 그것이 단지 작업의 문제를 넘어 생존의 태도이기도 하므로. 시행착오를 거듭하며 내게 맞는 리듬을 찾아가는 중(헬쓱…) 3. 결국 성장은 행동 속에서 일어난다. 그 과정에서 내게 맞는 답을 만나기도 하니 결코 헛되지 않다. 좋지 않은 것은, 급류에 휩쓸려 주객이 전도되는 것과 행동 없이 불평하는 것. 자신의 닻을 굳게 내리고 있으면 된다. 그런 줏대있는 사람들의 창작물은 대체로 단단하다. 4. 소거법 작업이든 일이든 관계든, 나는 주로 소거법을 쓴다. 잘하는 것을 찾는 것도 중요하지만, “이건 도저히 못 하겠다” 싶은 걸 걸러내는 것만으로도 충분히 본전이다. 하지 않을 것을 분명히 인지하는 일이야말로 자기 객관화에 큰 도움이 된다. 5. 국내외에서 내 그림을 선보일 수 있는 기회를 주신 분들, 작품을 소장해주신 분들, 그리고 관심 어린 컨택을 주신 모든 분들께 감사드린다. 가고 싶은 길이 있고, 그 길이 멀다는 건 두렵고도 행복한 일이다. 모든 순간과 과정, 그리고 관계를 잘 음미하며 걷고 싶다. — 장마와 함께했던 여름날의 (두서없는) 작업일지.zip #zipcy #painting #artwork #art #arttaipei2025 #집시 #작업일지

글이 깁니다 𝑺𝒐𝒍𝒐 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝑶𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑵𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 🇫🇷 - 연고가 없는 탓에 사람들이 오지 않으면 어쩌나 걱정이 컸는데, 다행히 오프닝부터 마감까지 풀하우스였습니다. 갤러리 식구들의 에너지 넘치는 팀워크+구석구석 세심하게 초대하시고, 바삐 소문을 내주신 덕분이에요. 낯선 도시, 낯선 얼굴들에게서 예상치 못한 큰 환대를 받았고 꿈을 꾼 기분입니다. - 신기했습니다. 다양한 연령, 직업, 인종이 뒤섞인 공간이었는데, 제 그림을 바라보는 표정과 감상을 전하는 눈빛이 모두 닮아 있었거든요. 숱한 다름을 넘어 하나로 이어진 기분.. 이날 제가 느낀 경이로움을 어떤 말로 담아낼 수 있을까요. — 가장 듣기 좋았던 말이 있습니다. 그림을 그려줘서, 파리에 와서 그림을 보여줘서 감사하다는 말이었어요. 그림을 그리길 잘 했다는 생각을 했습니다. 앞으로도 오래오래 그릴 거고요, 그 따듯한 말들을 앞으로의 작업을 위한 좋은 연료로 삼겠습니다. — 발걸음해주신 모든 분들과, 이런 멋진 경험을 선물해주신 @goldshteyn_saatort_gallery 갤러리에 진심으로 감사드립니다. 봄 밤의 꿈 같던 이 날의 여운을 안고 파리를 오래 기억할게요. ** I had worried that no one would come — I have no ties here, no network to lean on. But the gallery was full from opening to close. It was all thanks to the gallery team’s warmth and energy: the way they reached out, spread the word, and brought people in with such care. From a city of strangers, I received a welcome I never could have expected. I am so deeply grateful. — Something struck me as remarkable. The room was a mix of different ages, professions, and backgrounds, yet the expressions on people’s faces as they looked at my work - the way they looked at me when they shared what they felt -were all somehow the same. A feeling of being connected across so much difference.. The wonder I felt that night is something I don’t think any words can fully hold. — There is one thing I heard that meant the most to me. Thank you for painting. Thank you for coming to Paris to show us your work. In that moment, I knew: I am glad I became a painter. I will keep painting, for a long, long time — and I will carry those warm words as fuel for everything still to come. — To everyone who came, and to the gallery that gave me this extraordinary experience - thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
