Unfolding over time, Hering Illusion now enters its fourth year. From its inception, the project has sought to move beyond rigid, doctrinal frameworks, allowing live experience to return to the specificity of each situation and encounter.
Conceived as a pioneering platform for artistic convergence, Hering Illusion is a long-term live series dedicated to cross-disciplinary practices. Since its first edition in 2022, each iteration has been structured around a distinct humanistic theme, through which artists from diverse fields are invited to develop new works and site-responsive presentations. Looking forward, AHEM positions China as a point of departure, aiming to engage an international network of artists, music practitioners, and cultural professionals.
Each presentation by AHEM is grounded in experimentation, multiplicity of form, and a heightened sense of collectivity. The project reflects and amplifies both current and emergent live cultures, presenting influential contemporary artistic practices while providing an open platform for creative voices from around the world.
Within this framework, Hering Illusion functions as a laboratory for emerging tendencies at the intersection of performance, music, science, and information technologies. As the project continues to evolve, we remain committed to re-examining the meaning of liveness—dismantling boundaries and fostering connections between audiences, genres, and creative disciplines. Through collaborative production across artistic fields, Hering Illusion advances a model of cross-disciplinary co-creation and shared authorship.
