Myth: The UK is too cloudy for solar energy to make business sense.
The reality:
Solar panels don't need direct sunlight, they generate electricity from daylight.
Commercial and industrial buildings are often ideal due to large roof space, high daytime energy consumption, and consistent demand that matches solar generation profiles well.
Every kWh generated on-site is one you're not buying from the grid at today's prices, which aren't going down!
With a fully financed PPA through Zestec, there's no upfront capital required. You pay for the energy you use (typically at a lower rate than grid supply) from day one.
If you're a commercial or industrial business curious about what solar could realistically deliver for your site, speak to one of our friendly team.

Why is funded refurb + solar gaining traction now?
Because insurers, boards, investors and tenants are all asking the same question: “Is this building future-ready?”
Integrated upgrades answer that question, without tying up capital.
This isn’t a trend, this going to be the new default.

Energy costs are one of the biggest uncontrollable expenses for UK businesses.
With a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), you can:
∙ Generate your own renewable energy on-site
∙ Avoid upfront capital investment
∙ Pay less than standard grid prices
∙ Take control of long-term energy costs
It’s not just about sustainability, it’s about smarter commercial decisions.
The shift to renewable energy doesn’t have to be complex or capital-intensive, it just needs the right structure.
If you’re exploring how to reduce costs and future-proof your business, a PPA could be the answer.

Why did Zestec partner with @kingspan_panels_uk_ie Insulated Panels UK & Ireland for the new commercial roofing and solar offering?
Because if you’re going to fund and own energy infrastructure for 20+ years, the roof beneath it has to be right.
Partnering with a global leader in high-performance building envelope systems, means we can now deliver a groundbreaking solution for building owners.
Zestec’s funded Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) model combined with Kingspan’s FM-approved roof systems, is not just technically better but also financially and operationally.

A common assumption about installing solar at manufacturing facilities is that it will disrupt operations.
In reality, the opposite can be true, if projects are designed and delivered properly.
Manufacturing environments are complex. Facilities run 24/7, safety standards are strict, and any disruption to production can be costly. That’s why infrastructure projects need to be planned around operational realities from the start.
Our recent project with RENOLIT is a good example. Working alongside @seedrenewables , Zestec Renewable Energy delivered a 1.76MW solar PV system across rooftop and solar carport installations, enabling the site to generate clean electricity on-site while continuing normal operations.
Delivered through Zestec’s funded Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) model, the system will generate around 1.47GWh of electricity annually, helping reduce emissions while supporting long-term energy resilience.
For manufacturers facing rising energy costs and decarbonisation pressures, projects like this show that on-site renewable energy can be integrated into live production environments with minimal disruption.
