We are thrilled to announce that Zero Foodprint has been named to @fastcompany Most Innovative Companies of 2025!
In the category of agriculture, âZero Foodprint takes the top slot, for funding regenerative farming through a model so simple, it becomes radical: Restaurants, grocers, and food companies are asked to contribute 1% of consumer purchases to directly fund farm conversions.â
While weâd like to pat ourselves on the back for this one (and indeed, our incredible team deserves it!), this wouldnât have been possible without the hundreds of farmers, businesses, and eaters who have teamed up with us to regenerate.

Chef Works is proud to be an official partner of the James Beard Foundationâs Advocacy, Sustainability, and Community Programs, supporting initiatives that drive real change across the food system.
At this yearâs JBF Action Summit, Chef Anthony Myintâco-founder of Zero Foodprint and a trailblazer in climate-conscious diningâtook the stage to share his groundbreaking work on regenerative agriculture and how restaurants can be powerful agents of environmental restoration.
His message was clear: sustainability isn't just a trendâit's a responsibility.

The Senior Farm Grants Manager is responsible for the oversight and day-to-day management of Zero Foodprintâs farm-facing grant programs, including the Restore Program, Supply Chain Regeneration, and outgoing farm grants operations for Compost Connector. This role reports to the Director of Grants and works in close coordination with the broader grants team to ensure that ZFPâs farm grant programs are administered with integrity and achieve measurable climate and soil health outcomes.

đą This week, we asked our team to share how they compost at homeâand the answers were as unique as the people behind them.
From collecting food scraps in countertop jars or paper bags kept in the freezer until they can be dropped off at office compost bins, local farmers markets, backyard garden composters, or even shared with well-loved chickensâthereâs no one ârightâ way to compost. If itâs truly compostable, every effort counts.
In celebration of #ICAW, every like on this post will donate $1 to support @zerofoodprint (up to $500) to help support healthier soils and regenerative agriculture through the power of compost.Â
Our team doesnât just talk the talkâwe walk the walkâŚstraight to the compost pile. đ

Weâve made it to Friday, and weâre closing out International Compost Awareness Week with one last compost appreciation post.
Compost plays a vital role in building a more sustainable food system by returning nutrients to the soil, improving soil health, and helping grow healthier crops. By reducing food waste and composting organic materials, we can close the loop and support a more resilient future for food and farming.
Our grantee, Freedom Farms, is using compost to rehabilitate its previously neglected land. Freedom Farms not only grows food to feed the surrounding community, it is also home to a rehabilitation program for formerly incarcerated men and women transitioning to life after prison.

Itâs your daily Compost Awareness Week post! Todayâs subject is: water retention đ§
Adding compost to soil helps retain moisture, reducing the need for irrigation and improving drought resistance. By increasing the soilâs ability to absorb and hold water, compost supports smarter water use, reduces runoff, and builds more resilient landscapes.
Itâs a simple solution with a surprisingly powerful impact, from conserving water to strengthening the health of our soils and communities.

Jennifer Beretta loves a tractor. She knew from an early age that she wanted to be the fourth generation of her family to run their dairy farm âwhen I could push the tractor pedals in. I would help my grandpa and dad drive the tractor while they fed the cows.â
These days, she runs the farm alongside her father and brother, while her grandfather still lives on the property.
Wanting to expand the climate-smart practices they already used, the Berettaâs got funding from Zero Foodprintâs Healthy Soils Program and Restore grant to help make those practices more accessible.
For Jennifer, regenerative agriculture is about more than soil health. Itâs about protecting the future of the farm for the new generations of Berettaâs.
