Banded Overcoming Isometrics
We have been working with @zero_repetition_maximum ISO RACK STRAP to help get a practical way to put isometrics into our athlete programs this summer.
As we have delved deeper into isometrics you find that there are distinct methods of offering isometric stimulus.
Yielding isometrics: these are performed by maintaining a posture or position by acting AGAINST a force or load that is acting upon the body. Example: Split Squat Hold
Overcoming isometrics: these are performed by PRODUCING force into an implement or object and trying to overcome the position through an immovable object or load.
Both are useful but you find when programming and training they are distinct in the way you perform and setup the exercises.
@michael_boyle1959@vinny_talluto and I are a great example of three different people with separate abilities, body types and contraindications that contribute to the ways we set up the exercise.
This experimentation and practice allows us to troubleshoot and understand best how to offer this exercise to the most amount of people effectively.
This will be a great tool in not only improving performance but helping to improve injury protection.
