Reveal | ZERO | MUAF 2022 - 2023
ZERO (@zero_india ) is a visual artist from Delhi, who has been honing the streets of India since 2008. Rooted in traditional graffiti and letterform, he traverses global elements and influences of graffiti with an Indian aesthetic, creating a niche for himself in the craft. He is the co-founder of the UFO Crew (@ufo_crw ), and is part of India’s first HipHop Collective ‘Slumgods’ (@slumgods )
Skate-boarding is rooted in urban culture, and as such its communities have been close to the graffiti and street art movement. In a similar vein, the Bandra Skatepark is activated by skaters, BMX artists and breakers from all over the city, coming together to mutually engage in the riding of urban elements. Within this context, ZERO created this art intervention.
The work celebrates the homegrown street culture of Maharashtra, while giving the skatepark a fresh and vibrant life. Choosing a participatory approach, ZERO invited graffiti writers from Mumbai and Pune to create the work in collaboration with him. Emphasizing the importance of community in the urban landscape, he encouraged young and upcoming graffiti writers to engage, regardless of genre, style, and background.
The result hopes to cultivate an ongoing conversation with the city and its local youth, while inspiring them to keep up the street spirit and push creative boundaries.
Special thanks to the artists who contributed to the skatepark:

Collaboration Artist: ZERO (b. 1990, Gujarat)
“Don't let the stigma of graffiti keep you from using it as a tool of expression.”
By using the power of street art and messages, This Toy Face aims to create tangible, and positive forms of expression. Voice of the Street is a Toy Face that places the act of mark making, on the Toy Face canvas. Integrating a language that is symbolic of our youth, of expression, of drawing ‘hearts’ on facades, and scribbling our names to make our presence known, ZERO transforms the act of rebelliousness and vandalism, into an important vocal medium for messages and expressions of ideas.
This collaboration is part of Mumbai Urban Art Festival by @startindia and vision partner @asianpaints on display starting 14th Jan.

Back on the court with that same hunger, same energy. 🏀
This one’s for the love of the game and everything it represents.
Built this around the spirit of NBA culture—where every detail carries legacy. From the grind, the sweat, the rhythm of the game… to the stories that shaped it.
Each frame holds a piece of that influence. The mentality, the style, the attitude. The kind of energy that doesn’t fade when the game ends.
This isn’t just basketball.
It’s youth, expression, and identity moving at full speed.
Still learning. Still evolving. Still chasing that next level.
Always for the love of the game.
Big ups to the @nbaindia@nbastyle_in@santanu_hazarika_art@budweiser_india team for having me❤️🔥
Come see it live May 9–10 at Bharat Mandapam Hall 6, New Delhi.

Exposing Graffiti and Smells in Every Corner
St+art Kolkata, supported by Asian Paints
This work unfolds as a hybrid domestic chamber—part kitchen, part bathroom, part graffiti wall—foregrounding the most functional and overlooked spaces of the home. Cooking, washing, cleaning, and repair become central gestures here, understood as sites where labour, care, and everyday survival quietly accumulate.
This emphasis on surface and endurance sits in direct conversation with Asian Paints’ understanding of paint as something lived with. The walls are conceived to withstand moisture, friction, cleaning, and constant contact, much like the kitchens and bathrooms they reference. Material choice reinforces the idea that these spaces are shaped by repeated use rather than designed appearance.

👀ADDA: The Third Space - A Living Sensorium Inspired by Kolkata’s Street Cultures”, a site-specific exhibition presented by TRI Art & Culture, curated by St+art India Foundation, with vision partner Asian Paints and CSR partner KCT Group CSR.
Drawing from the visual and sensory languages of Kolkata’s street cultures, the exhibition brings together the six senses - “Sight, Smell, Taste, Sound, Touch, and Proprioception” - to explore the fluid boundaries between street life, home, and embodied urban experiences.

Reveal | EXPOSING SCRATCHES AND SMELLS IN EVERY CORNER | by @zero_india , @deepholic__ & @deyspecial
A hybrid space — part kitchen, part toilet — becomes a site of layered testimony. Graffiti, writing, and scent converge to surface stories of labour, care, and survival that often remain hidden within domestic spaces.
Walls become voices. Smell becomes memory. The work insists that adda can hold discomfort as much as warmth, making space for narratives that demand to be seen, smelled, and acknowledged.
On view till 4 January, 🔺ADDA: The Third Space, an exhibition by St+art India Foundation (@startindia ) in collaboration with TRI Art & Culture (@triartandculture ), supported by vision partner @asianpaints along with @kctgroupcsr .

A Hybrid Toilette-kitchen-graffiti Room as a Sensory Palimpsest by ZERO, Deep Adhikary, and Ishita Dey
Building a space that refuses separation. Graffiti, objects, and scent develop together, responding to the constraints of kitchens and toilets. Walls are layered, smells are calibrated, and surfaces are left open to response, allowing labour, care, and survival to register sensorially rather than symbolically.
On view till 4 January, ADDA: The Third Space, an exhibition by St+art India Foundation ( @startindia ) in collaboration with TRI Art & Culture (@triartandculture ), supported by vision partner ( @asianpaints ) along with ( @kctgroupcsr ).

Among India’s early graffiti artists, ZERO (@zero_india ) maps the evolution of the street as both site and statement. His practice merges text, abstraction, and figuration to read the city through its walls in order to trace the marks of time, labour, and resistance. In collapsing the distinction between public art and personal gesture, ZERO redefines authorship as a collective act, where expression becomes an imprint of coexistence.

I go by Zero, working on the streets of India since 2008, co-founder UFO Crew in India and am part of India’s first HipHop Collective SLUMDOGS. Rooted in Graffiti and traditional letterforms, my practice explores typography and print media. I interweave global elements of Graffiti with an Indian aesthetic, creating a niche for myself in the craft. Through my murals, I have also developed a figurative approach. Exploring the socio-economic effects of urbanisation and the changing nature of a metropolis, my works reflect on the resilience of humans and nature alike. I portray subtle complexities through layers of imagery and my use of colour.
