Something I’ve wanted to do for a long time has finally come to fruition… I published my first coloring book! The title is Zenvironments Coloring Book - Ecosystems. It focuses on the more nature based illustrations I’ve created over the years and is hopefully the first in a series of many. I self published under #chickenhutbooks, a spin off of my store @babayagaville .. It’s 80 pages of coloring adventure, taking you through the various exotic worlds I’ve created in pen and ink.. Now you can reimagine them in color yourselves! The page quality is high and accepts almost any coloring implement, even paint! I’m super happy with how the book turned out and I hope you are too! Progress on a custom shima enaga painting started @zeneralcoffeestore yesterday and continued today @smoochcoffeestand in Sapporo, Japan. The shima enaga birds live in this exact park but unfortunately, only in winter, so my chances of seeing one of these cute creatures is slim….
In two days time, I will be traveling to the land of the shima enaga, the long tailed bushtit, who primarily, if not exclusively, reside in Hokkaido, Japan. That’s right, I’m heading to Japan and with the express interest in seeing in person one of these adorable little birds that look like flying snowballs. I made some art for the occasion featuring these cartoonish little creatures. Some of these art prints will be coming with me in my travels, to show off and sell at my friend’s store in Sapporo @neocapsule and @smoochcoffeestand . I will undoubtedly make more art while I’m there and will be hanging out in and around Sapporo for 4 days.
Aside from Hokkaido, I will also be traveling to Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. I have 2 glorious weeks to see and do as much as I can in the land of the rising sun and I’m very excited for it. So JAPAN, I humbly ask you to throw any and all suggestions for must see art, food, museums and happenings in the next 2 weeks. Thank you and I can’t wait to see you…. you too shima enaga 😉 🖐🇯🇵
