The decidedly smaller and more colorful neighborhood of Moda, on the asian side of the city, may be the surprise highlight of Istanbul. It got busy but didn’t feel crowded, was full of art and strays, and felt strangely like home.
🔉These calls to prayer can be heard across the city five times a day. I heard about them before I came but didn’t expect to be as moved by them as I’ve been. They raise the hairs on my neck every time
