TouchDesigner Bangkok Meetup vol. 2 is officially back! The energy of TDBKK 2025 is still fresh in our minds. Seeing our community fill the room for a sold-out debut while sharing the raw energy of live performances and deep-process talks, proved how much this ecosystem is ready to grow. Let’s gather again to build on that vibe. This year, we continue our @touchdesigner community journey under the theme: “Shaping Creative Technology Culture in Southeast Asia” What is TDBKK? We are a community-driven platform for real-time media and creative technology, our community designed for artists, designers, and technologists to connect, share processes, and experiment together. Our mission is to strengthen the regional ecosystem through hands-on learning, consistent gatherings, and a two-way bridge to the global creative-tech scene. This expansion would not be possible without the shared vision of our partners. A big part of creative work is dealing with technical difficulties. Among these is camera work. Using different types of camera animations can significantly improve your visual dynamics. This was requested often, so we put together a small @touchdesigner tutorial on camera animation and how to control it. In it, we walk you through the basics of animating cameras, switching them using your keyboard and smoothly blending between them. Seamless loop transitions are difficult using the default tools, but there is a way to do this with a little hack. The custom tool to achieve this is included in the project files. ▪️ New TD Tutorial’s out! | Lines Point Cloud with POPs . I got a couple of requests on how to create this visual. If you’re also wonder, let’s dive in the new POPs operator in @touchdesigner and build a beginner-friendly point cloud animation. I’ll share you how to use Particle POP to emit points from a point-cloud object, creating a left-to-right scanning motion. This scanning effect feels like the object is slowly revealing itself in slices, which gives the animation a really nice sense of progression. ▪️A rare cosmic event, inspired by 3i-Atlas. After its nongravitational acceleration passing the sun, many might thought “alien spaceship”. Even though it was most likely just a case of “accelerated weight loss” . In this reality, we still have to create our alien technology ourselves. To make the geometry with PBR-textures I once again used #MeshyAI and setup the scene in #Touchdesigner. Generating objects in MeshyAI costs coins. But you can also share your creations to earn it, and download shared objects for less than it costs to generate your own. It is also fun to just browse the communities creations. ▪️Aquatic Symphony I have not scanned many objects lately, but when I do I focus more on nature than solid objects. Plants are difficult to scan, light conditions may change and the wind may easily interfere with the scan, making it challenging to good results. Using #MeshyAI removes this barrier, allowing me to have feature organic, small scale, rare and even completely phantastic objects. The high density meshes #MeshyAI creates are ideal for my work. But what if you do not need high density? The “remesh” feature, allows you to easily create lower resolution versions. ▪️Lately Iʼve been in a heavy experiment phase, trying new visual directions and sound exploration. To keep it up with my fast paced ideas. Sometime can be quite time consuming and challenging, especially when making a 3D object is envolved. (Not to mention by walking around and scanning stuffs) #MeshyAI made parts of this process very easy. In this project I used their freshly released #Meshy5, to effordlessly create a 3D Ganesha statue. Export options were pretty straightforward and I could convert the output into .PLY, using the same method Moritz @wuffever covered in our “Point Cloud 101ˮ workshop with @zdepth.de on #Patreon. .
