June 9-10 Jessi and I chalked at the Blumberg Street Art festival in Blumberg Germany. It’s an amazing event willed with world class artists and a welcoming town. We attended in 2016 and always wanted to come back, this year we made it happen! I drew Jessi in the style of Roy Lichtenstein in an homage to his work “Girl In Mirror” but using her cell phone rather than a hand mirror to show the change in society and how technology has replaced so many common things. The pics are as follows: 1. An overhead shot of me and the work showing the scale. It was approximately 10’x9.5’; 2. A process pic showing what it looks like without dots. Will no one think of the robots?!?!
Hey if you like art you should care about what’s happening in Florida right now and be concerned that it’s likely coming to your state too. They’ve banned art with the excuse that it makes spaces less safe. At this very moment murals are being removed from roadways and sidewalks.
Art is the voice of the masses. We use it to connect to one another and to communicate ideas. It’s something everyone can participte in and it has the capacity to help us as a society process the world around us indivually and together. Art form of expression that is protected by the first amendment.
I don’t have a proper call to action right now but if you are an enjoyer of freedom and free speech please reach out to someone to express your concern. It could be friends and family, it coukd be your local politicians. Just Tell Someone what you think.

This weekend I chalked @lord.phobos from my favorite band @twrpband . I love their music, I love their vibe. They encourage me through song and make my days bright.
My photo reference is from a photo I took at the June 10, 2022 show in Atlanta. I’m looking forward to seeing TWRP again this fall.
