Seeing my sister friend embrace motherhood has become a great source of inspiration and strength for me. The fierceness she embodies as she nurtures and create life is a quality that’s simply beautiful and priceless. Looking on these photos, I feel the warmth of motherhood - the spiritual, physical and emotional transformation that encompasses the experience. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to value, respect and protect black women by creating safe spaces for us to thrive!

It's been quite a journey for us since we devoted ourselves to renovating and revitalizing our family business, @rockersinternationalja . We sincerely thank @zaudspace for your support in showcasing and sharing what we've been working on for our shop. There's so much more we look forward to sharing and showcasing.
Collaborating with Dutty Bookman to document/photograph @sattareggaeparty for the last few weeks has been a beautiful experience for me. And these photos from last week's event reminds me how special this platform really is.
Overall, the purpose and intention behind this event makes it a very unique space for reggae music right now - one that deserves to be properly documented and cherished.
Big up the whole crew for maintaining the vision weekly and staying true to honouring reggae music culture @duttybookman@chillmuchmore@thestreetsupplyco
Gratitude.

POV: You married your bestie in the most stylish, classic way. 💍✨
Not basic. Not predictable. Just iconic. But guess what?
This magic that we created, wasn’t random. It was very intentional and carefully planned from the start.
Before the shoot, this couple said to me: “We don’t want the typical boring wedding portrait shots." They didn’t want the copy-and-paste Pinterest shots. They wanted something that felt like them.
Working with them both inspired me and reminded me that weddings aren’t meant to look like everyone else’s. It’s meant to look like your unique love story.

On my creative journey, I have been blessed to connect with many purpose driven people from all walks of life; people who are committed to making a difference and who put community at the center of all their works.
Time and time again we face many storms and challenges. And at all times, we are in the fight together whether we realize it or not.
We live in a world right now where real communities and connections are being threatened by artificial systems. So I think now is the time for us to get back to our roots, choose and support our communities and build and strengthen what makes us connected. It won't always be easy but it's worth it. No matter how great or small your contributions are, it mek a difference.
So to all the ones doing Jah works with love and good intentions, keep shining your light. The whole world needs it...
Gratitude to every single one who's supported my photography business @zaudspace and my love for the culture.
Unity is strength and community is foundation.

Early this morning during my Instagram scroll, I came across this viral video of a "photographer" who was filming himself taking pictures of some people walking around in NYC.
He kept snapping photos of people without their permission, even when they were visibly upset and uncomfortable by his actions. Personally, I think his approach was very invasive , disrespectful and underwhelming. And unfortunately what he was doing in that video is how I see many of us as photographers operate in the industry.
However, his behaviour and lack of tact mainly reminded me how important it is to be careful with how and when I use my camera. While I continue my journey as a student of the craft, I am learning that not every story needs to be captured on a camera and most stories that I share will require great responsibility and tact.
As photographers, sometimes we end up photographing a lot of people in a single event. But the quantity doesn't change the fact that we are dealing with real people who have unique stories; these folks are not mere "subjects" projected in front of our lenses. Thus, at all times they deserve respect. And i'm not going to pretend as if I don't make mistakes. I make a lot of mistakes, all the time. But those mistakes are constantly teaching me that photography is not a walk in the park. It's hard work and many times it requires a lot of compassion.
We live in a time where great storytelling is often times traded for flashy images and "content". But I think there's so much depth and beauty to be discovered around us when we lead with respect and compassion instead of our cameras.

The fire was blazing hot at @ifrequencyja last Thursday night. It's definitely one of those cultural events you have to experience when in Kingston.
It was an honor to be there to witness and photograph the players of instruments in their element.
