A weekend to remember fs:) I can never take for granted how blessed I am do be able to do what I do on stages like this. Last year I attended as a DJ and to be able to come back this year as a musician and perform with my @cigarcityrecords family means the world to me. Alsoo Tampa showed tf out all weekend and it was so cool to see our city showcase the talent we have. Shoutout to all the performers/artists who made this weekend the experience it was and trust I will be back next year😎

Mr. Midas, my anti-capitalist anthem, is out now on all platforms. I was recently talking with my Dad about the general feeling of helplessness we have as a country right now. Acknowledging that our government is quite literally run by billionaire p*dophiles while feeling like there’s little we can actually do other than be angry is so defeating. He reminded me that this thought process is exactly what they would love to see. They would love to overwhelm us and desensitize us to the point where we simply give up because there’s ‘nothing we can do’. I am a revolutionary. I am a serial optimist. I rebuke this feeling of helplessness. We have so much power than we realize in our voices, in our numbers, in our spending power, in our ART. This is the reason I make music. This is the reason I am a teacher. To affect real grass-root change because no one is coming to save us. The age old question in the black community has been “Who do you call when the police are the ones terrorizing you?” My answer is the same as the Black Panthers, Malcolm X, and MLK. You call on your neighbor. You call on your fellow citizen. This song is my call. There will come a time for revolution and I don’t believe it will be peaceful. I hope everyone who listens to this song or sees me perform this live knows that if no one else, you can call on me and mines. In the song I say “Mr. Midas I bleed…”, but in retrospect i think it’s time for Mr. Midas to shed some blood himself.
