They say some things happen for a reason, and even when you cannot fully understand why at first, life has a beautiful way of putting the missing pieces together to create a story that suddenly makes perfect sense. Layo and Komi’s journey to love did not exactly begin on the easiest note, but fate was definitely writing a beautiful script. From navigating societal expectations to enduring seasons of grief and uncertainty about the future, their love was tested in more ways than one. But through it all, they discovered that when it comes to true love, what matters most is choosing each other every single time. ❤️ See more on /layo-komi-10th-wedding-anniversary/ Couple: @zanafe_ | @alagba_komi Photography: @lucystevens.ca Suits @_oyecouture #BellaNaijaWeddings

Komi (31) and Layo (30) met at the University of Ibadan in January 2013. On this week’s Love Life, they talk about getting pregnant in their third year together, being forced into marriage by their parents, losing their first baby, and building a life while navigating judgement and early parenthood. #zikoko #zikokomag #zikokoships #zikokolovelife Curated by: @playfoodbyyinka

✨ 30! A Decade of Resilience, Reinvention & Grace ✨ At 20, I thought my story was over before it began. Pregnant in my final year of undergrad, the whispers were loud: “She’s finished.” “She threw her future away.” They doubted my relationship, doubted my dreams, doubted me. But what they didn’t know was the fire in me — and the bond I had with my best friend @alagba_komi now my husband. We refused to let a single moment define the rest of our lives. So I made a choice: not to let life happen to me, but to take life by the horns. Over the last decade, while raising three beautiful kids, I built a life I once thought impossible: 🎓 B.Sc. in Human Physiology 🎓 M.Sc. in Applied & Environmental Physiology 📊 Learned Data Analytics during the pandemic 🎓 M.Sc. in International Business Management (University of the West of England) 📜 Became a Certified Business Analyst (CBAP) 📜 Became a licensed Life, Health & Wealth Insurance Advisor Did I stumble? Absolutely. Did I rise again? Every. Single. Time. This 30th for me is way more than a birthday; it’s a testimony of grit, grace, perseverance, and God’s faithfulness. All this, across 3 continents, through countless restarts, often while nursing or pregnant. From being homeless and starting life as a mother at 20, to being a permanent resident, and a strong voice in my community. I feel blessed, I feel new, I can now say impossibility is an illusion. Cheers to 30, looking forward to what’s ahead. Here’s to Chapter 30 — refined, unshakable, and ready for greater. ✨ #Chapter30 #RefinedByFire #30AndThriving #ThisIs30 #LifeByTheHorns #UnstoppableWoman #MotherhoodAndCareer #ResilientSoul #GlowUpStory #FaithAndGrit

Three degrees cold out here 🔥. Didn’t get here by singing kumbaya, but sweat, blood and tears. I am eternally grateful to God and the gift of family. #classof2023 #bristolschoolofbusiness
