What was supposed to be a lovely birthday trip quickly turned into a bit of a nightmare 😅.
The day I was meant to fly back home, the airspace suddenly closed because of the whole Iran–Israel–US situation… and just like that, I was stuck in Thailand.
One minute you’re enjoying island life, the next minute you’re refreshing flight apps every 10 seconds and calculating how long your sanity will last 🥲. Life really has a way of reminding you that no matter how perfectly you plan, things can change in an instant.
I won’t lie, it took a toll on my mental state. I found myself wanting to come home more than I ever have before. It’s funny how we sometimes laugh at situations from afar… until one day you find yourself right in the middle of it.
But the whole experience also taught me a lot:
appreciate the present, don’t take tomorrow for granted, and embrace every moment as it comes.
The moment I finally got my flight ticket, you would’ve thought I’d won the lottery 😭. Safe to say I’m very glad to be back home.
Over the next couple of weeks I’ll still be sharing Thailand from my lens 🇹🇭, just a little reminder that the posts aren’t in real time, but from the experience I had while I was there.
Also, shoutout to the amazing “stranded friends” I made along the way… nothing bonds people faster than being stuck in another country together 😂.
And to everyone who was stranded in Qatar, Thailand, or anywhere else because of the chaos, I hope you all made it home safely too 🙏🏾
Oh and to my amazing friends and family that kept praying and checking up on me, ya’ll are forever special 🫶🏾🫶🏾❤️
