The Hitchhiker
Today would have been Jim Morrison’s 82nd birthday. He was one of America’s most important poets as well as a big inspiration to me. On this day in 1970, his 27th birthday, Jim sat down at Elektra Studios to record a spoken word poetry album. This piece was included and is from a film he had written about a hitchhiker who kills the people that give him rides. This piece partly inspired Riders on the Storm. Happy Birthday Jim
just wanna give a massive thank you to these guys as they chose to use an image I shot of them for the cover of their newest single “Midnight” (go stream it wherever you listen to music!)
also a huge congratulations and shoutout to the boys for workin their asses off and creating some incredible tunes.
it all started when i met @david_viz in the Malibu parking lot a few summers ago and he asked me if i was paddling out again.
eventually i met the rest of the guys and stuck around long enough to start shooting pics for them. these guys are the real deal and some of the most genuine people i’ve ever met.
stay tuned for their album they cut, it’ll be dropping sometime soon
thank you guys for letting me tag along and for being such homies
here’s to many more gigs, albums, images and pool nights! 🍬🍬🍬
