❓ If you say you’re not making us homeless, why do you require a comms strategy to ensure you’re not ‘SEEN TO BE’ making households homeless? ❓ Why was this decision made behind closed doors, and by a committee the council refuses to admit exists? ❓ Why inflict this COMPLETELY AVOIDABLE suffering? Today marks exactly one month until my partner and I are expected to move out from our flat. But we’re not planning on going anywhere. Instead, we ask @lambeth_council to provide us with answers. We also insist the council immediately reverses its reckless decision to evict us, alongside hundreds of other low-income vulnerable residents. We’re already having to spend over 60% of our income on rent. Where are we all supposed to go if we’re to be thrown out from the only ‘affordable’ housing available? I got her as a two-leaf clipping in February and she's been the most unproblematic steady grower ever since. So far, these are the most beautiful Hoya flowers I've got the chance to see in person. The Big Benny has seen some crazy shit but hundreds of MPs ruthlessly letting preemies die in the name of their greed seems like a new low to hit. It is absurdly obvious that a few month- or year-old kid is not a terrorist. And killing over 4,500 and counting of them ‘in exchange’ for 1,200 Israeli lives is not, and could never be, justifiable. What even is this bargaining over human life, as if one was more worthy of saving than the other? And I can’t think of another group of people that’d be considered by society as more innocent or defenceless than preemies. They literally haven’t had any time, let alone capacity, to even form intentions to do harm yet. If these spineless ‘world leaders’ can’t even recognise how cruel and inhumane killing them is, or very possibly - they do but just don't care, just imagine how unrelenting they’ll be when the time comes for you. In my lifetime, I cannot recall another instance when it was this blatantly obvious that those in power who are to represent us, in actuality could not care less about their constituents. I’m angry. I’m broken. I’m tired. But I’m also determined. This Hoya sp. Mount Rimau might just be my favourite plant at the moment. The robust clipping came to me from @hoyabydomiuk mid-March with three gorgeous leaves and a peduncle! She's since brought me these stunning blooms and oh so much joy 😍 In my experience so far, she's surprisingly easy-going and very quick to root.
