Hiya, this is a long post about what I went through and what I saw at Nashville Christian School, if you donât wanna read all this then pls scroll past it!
I was really hoping that in my 6 years I left NCS they wouldâve changed and became better. I really hoped so. But seeing stories like
@bdh014 âs really show that nothings changed there, and nothing probably will.
During my 4 years at NCS I was treated was like a freak for not being the most masculine person. Nobody wanted to sit next to me, most people didnât even want to touch me - some people would jab me in the sides really hard and would laugh when I told them it hurt. Even some of the faculty there bullied me and when I went to tell other teachers, they ignored me.
Whatâs worse is what they did to other people.
One of the first things I remember was in 5th grade, we had to do a project on racism where half the class couldnât use the restroom, had to stand in class, clean the tables, and only speak when spoken to (they would scream at us in our faces too). The teachers most likely meant well, but this was cruel, illegal, and felt like one of the many attempts to try and power-trip us - even for just a few days.
Another time was in 8th grade, someone had their shoes spray painted and thrown in the girlâs bathroom. The guidance counselor decided it would be best to line all the girls up and tell them they werenât allowed to use the restroom and potentially each had to pay money to replace this one personâs shoe.
Other instances included teachers pulling girls skirts down for being too short, telling the guys that we were failing the school if we didnât play sports, stopping class to make us clean the bleachers (but people who played basketball didnât have to) and telling me Iâd go to hell if I left the school, among a LOT of other little things.
Obviously not everyone was like that and these are just my experiences - some of the teachers and students were amazing. But a lot were absolute horrible unchristian-like people that the school did nothing about. It felt like hell there and I know many other people who didnât conform to the standards were.
