I remember the day I first laid eyes on this car at the Atlanta International Auto Show back in 2022. From the S30 chassis style front end, to the retro rear end that pays homage to the Z32, it instantly had my attention. At the time, I was about a year into ownership of my red 370Z NISMO (Athena). The car performed well in every way, and allowed me to understand what Nissan’s performance division was really about. However, I found myself having little connection to the car and just wanting to move on from the 370Z platform in general. I decided soon after that the new RZ34 would be Athena’s replacement.
The search for this car was nothing short of extremely frustrating. From the greedy dealerships price gouging through exorbitant markups, to my desired spec not being available in the nearest 5 states, I remained patient and hopeful. Fast forward a couple years, and the market for these had fallen significantly due to supply far outweighing demand.
I came across this specific Z close to a year ago during one of my many casual AutoTrader searches. It was the exact spec I wanted; a Seiran Blue exterior with Graphite interior in the Performance trim. It was also a certified pre-owned manager demo vehicle with only 1100 miles on the odometer. Over the course of the past year or so, I attempted to negotiate to a price I felt was reasonable for the car in the current market. After several failed attempts, I decided to give up on this lead and keep looking.
I got the call a few months later, while in Tennessee for ZCON. The dealership’s GM had gotten sick of seeing the car sit on the lot (for over a year at this point), and agreed to accept my offer. I purchased the car on 9/30, and took delivery from a Nissan dealership in Illinois a week later. I booked a photoshoot with the talented
@suprajohn and today, I’m excited to bring the new car to the page. I’m thrilled to start building a new platform to my vision, and hope you guys will enjoy coming along for the ride 💙
