So this time a year ago ENIYAN ESCAPE ROOM was on view in Lagos Nigeria, a project I worked on for 2 years and that’s the first time I felt what it’s like for a dream to come true.
A lot went into it ;, from my choice to learn about myself and deal with my unrealized low self esteem , to realizing the idea in the process, developing it , living through the idea, emotions and state of mind as part of my life , creating the works , installing and executing and people visiting eventually seeing that it’s possible in this part of the world . It was beautiful and i can’t wait to show you the next chapter I’m working on .
This post is to appreciate God and to remember that we all have the strength and capability to walk through that gate that scares us the most, because the gate is there for a reason especially when it has no door. 😊

Eniyan: “Domain Expansion” is more than a physical movement; it’s a mental, social, and spiritual journey. It challenges us to evolve beyond our known spaces, our ingrained ways of life, and our constrained beliefs , with the intent to get us to contemplate our states of mind, whether they are bound by societal norms, political ideologies, or racial divisions.
I’m excited to be part of this project ,collaborating with the amazing @tokyojamess and his beautiful work.
Media : Made of fiberglass, standing at over 6ft tall and rendered in white and gold, ‘Eniyan’ is captured at a pivotal moment moving from the familiar to the unknown represented by the characters perceived journey through a surrounding “Gateway “ structure inspired by the Asian Tori gates , made of wood and standing on a bed of granite stones.

Ever since i moved studios , I’ve been photographing my new pieces on this part of the wall of the entire building.
Apart from the lovely frame and base to gracefully sit my works on and look ready which I also feel like that part of the wall in the house was made and waiting for me 😝🥰, it also has this perfect natural light and degree that helps my pictures come out clear without any shadow cast or highlights on my works .
It brings me joy a lot and always excited to photograph my paintings. 😊.
I’m thinking I should make some improvements if my landlord approves tho😅 Cheers to great natural lighting and beautiful art 🥂

The other day I was watching a movie and saw a scene that reminded me of the power or making a move no matter how small or ineffective it might seem.
“”The silent wait for your savior , but the questions are ;
How do you live with waiting in your own flood?
What is the reason or benefit of your wait ? , are you being petty to force being special to be saved ? , is it boredom? is it attention?, is it a nostalgia? Is it self victimization?
Are you testing how much love he/she has for you? Are you testing their consistency in their care ?
Are you trying to see if they will stop caring by choosing to watch yourself drown?
Have you asked yourself, What if they are actually stretched thin and refueling to be able to still keep showing up and keep caring for you ? Or actually this might be the moment they need you to be their own source of air?
What if no one actually saves you and you’ve held your breath for too long and don’t realize how deep you’ve gone?
The power of your choice is the beginning of another branch of reality.””

Eniyan_Discomfort Zone:
Funny how you sometimes think you’re not blessed but then you realized in a way you see the future and you recognize the past.
When they say the signs are always there, it’s truer than you think, because you only see the signs well when you’re ready to accept the elements the contains them .
As a messenger you have no choice most times but to interpret it as you’re shown or told, and sometimes you’re required to speak the language of the people.
Silently we all say the same prayer but out loud ,to one another we speak different languages because of our fear of vulnerability and being judged. But in the end as I tell some of my friends, if you fail because you didn’t show vulnerability or truth, you’ll still be blamed and casted aside and be told “sebi you didn’t listen”.
And if you win because you were real and truthful to your inner self without being told, you’ll still be embraced by those who blame you for being vulnerable saying
“sebi we told you”
So why not be real then, embrace the morality, love and ideals that lies within you and trying to be free like water. Because the only language people will ever understand and without choice to learn IS YOUR LANGUAGE (because they don’t know the next word that comes out of the Lords mouth) .

Voied_The Silence That Sheltered Us :
No matter how hard you try, even the quiet voices in you sympathizes with you more than you imagine, asking you to set yourself free from holding back the noise you suppress to look strong and working while the discomfort and pains creep in gradually. Your Voied tries its best to absorb it all , keeping you safe, but really and deep down you know this , it can’t hold it together forever, the only cost for your freedom is your vulnerability , without shame , fear , judgement and most of all self trust. Because having wings doesn’t necessarily mean you will be able to fly if you lack the faith and trust in yourself after taking the leap…..
