After being a @youtube Partner for over 7 years, I woke up yesterday morning to find that Iāve been suspended from the program. I was given no warning and no real explanation beyond my videos being labeled as āinauthentic content.ā
This means all 787 of my existing videos and any future uploads are no longer eligible for monetization.
YouTube defines āinauthentic contentā as material that appears mass-produced or repetitive, created mainly to increase views without adding meaningful value. If ANYONE knows how to āmass-produceā content that involves 30+ hour travel days across the globe to film some of the worldās best skiers throwing down in top-tier terrain parks and then package that footage into videos that take at least 3 full days to script, narrate, edit, colour grade, and add-in sound and visual effectsā¦ Iād genuinely love to hear it.
Iāve submitted an appeal where YouTube states a human-review will be conducted in the next ā2 weeksā. While Iām hopeful that this is some YouTube bot error, itās hard not to feel incredibly discouraged and confused waking up to this. Iām extremely proud of the videos I create and can only hope theyāve made you laugh at least once over the years...
This channel started as a passion project. It became a place to share my love for freestyle skiing and for years it didnāt earn a dime. Itās never been about the money. But in the last 3 years that I have taken it full-time, it has become my livelihood ā so even a short-term suspension is a big blow...
Sorry for the rant... I just wanted to share whatās going on in case anyone has been through something similar or has advice on how to navigate this.
