I fell so deep
I couldn't see the ground
I thought this time
I wouldn't make it out
They burned it all
left me with nothing there
but one last ember
still burning in the air
And in the darkest moment
when I had nothing left
something deep inside me
said: get up, don't rest
Forged, forged
no matter how they burn me
forged, forged
the fire cannot break me
They made me out of iron
through pain and through the fire
the harder that they push me
the higher I rise
I come out forged
There were those who thought
I'd never make it back
there were those who toasted
watching me collapse
But they didn't know
what runs deep in my veins
the more they try to break me
the stronger I remain
It wasn't the fall
that broke me inside
it was the silence
of losing my light
And with my hands covered
in cold dark earth
I learned while falling
my own true worth
Forged, forged
though I burn inside
forged, forged
I will not break, I'll rise
They made me out of iron
through pain and through the fire
the harder that they push me
the higher I rise
I come out forged
Forged…
always forged
"Meanwhile, let us have a sip of tea. The afternoon glow is brightening the bamboos, the fountains are bubbling with delight, the soughing of the pines is heard in our kettle. Let us dream of evanescence, and linger in the beautiful foolishness of things."
Okakura Kakuzo
Book of Tea (1906)
"Keep moving forward, even when the road feels lonely, even when those around you don't understand where you're headed. Your journey is uniquely yours, and not everyone is meant to walk it with you."
