Isolation is something queer people have to endure for a significant part of their lives. I grew up, and still exist, in a space where our lives are threatened and treated as second fiddle. In this realm, with a deep-seated feeling of weakness, I always found myself drawn to transcendence. Higher power, greater wisdom and spirituality as a means of protection. That’s what Luna symbolizes for me: the belief that in the worship of what you believe in, you find solace, community, and protection.
