It’s our 30th birthday and there’s going to be one big party!

On Thursday, May 7, 2026, YPT will host our momentous 30th anniversary fundraising event at the Silver Spring Civic Center from 6 - 10pm. We invite you to join 150 community leaders, visionary sponsors, YPT alumni, educators, and artists, and a few celebrity guests, for an evening of food, drinks, dancing, awards, and celebration.

The Giving Flowers Gala will raise crucial funds to support the work of YPT, and will include:
.
An exciting presentation facilitated by celebrity guests - - Brittany Inge (The Miss Pat Show, Atlanta) and Brian Jordan Jr. (Georgia Sky, Sistas);
- Delicious food and a full open bar;
- Fun activities including a DJ and dancing, a photo booth, and a wine and jewelry pull;
- A Silent Auction featuring a curated selection of luxury items; and
- The presentation of the Giving Voice Award and the inaugural Rising Voice Award.

Giving Flowers will demonstrate YPT’s beauty and longevity, the resilience and necessity of art and art makers, and the ways that YPT’s history is inextricably entwined with the rich history and culture of Washington, DC.
We're teaming up with Keegan Theatre to bring your young writers/performers a one-of-a-kind summer playwrighting camp!
This 5-week camp will guide your young artists through writing their own original play and teach them to perform it. Capping off at the end with a private showing for family and friends on the Sitar Arts Center stage!
