What is the Young Patrons Circle?
Would you like to contribute to the future of opera and ballet? Are you between the ages of 25 and 40 and want to get a closer look at the wonder of these arts? Then join Dutch National Opera & Ballet’s Young Patrons Circle, an international, young community of donors.
With your donations you support young talent: the Dutch National Opera Studio and the Dutch National Ballet's Junior Company every year. It is an essential part of ensuring the future of opera and ballet and giving the younger generations high quality artistic training.
Being a Young Patron enables you to enjoy special benefits such as getting access to the backstage of our house during backstage events, participating in the annual YPC gala and more!

Exciting announcement! We’re delighted to introduce the Young Patrons Ambassadors for this year’s gala on 20 June: Alanna Archibald, Jenson Blight, Salome Leverashvili, Eva Rae Martinez, Aaike Nortier, Niels Oosthoek, Jade Olieberg, Liesbeth Rasker and Naz Amin Kawan. As ambassadors, they use their talent and platforms to open up the world of opera and ballet and help build a community of theatre lovers around the world.

Let us introduce you to the Young Patrons Circle through a few of our members. The Young Patrons Circle is an international community of young opera and ballet enthusiasts who support Dutch National Opera & Ballet in various ways. It currently consists of more than 200 young professionals and creatives up to the age of 40 who share a passion for these art forms. Watch the video to discover more!

Ik mag aankondigen dat ik me aansluit bij de SteerCo van de Young Patrons Circle van de Nationale Opera & Ballet! 🎭🩰
Velen van jullie weten dat ik vernoemd ben naar componist George Gershwin en uiteraard was Porgy and Bess dan ook mijn allereerste kennismaking met de wereld van opera. Toch duurde het tot 2019 voor ik deze opera eindelijk live mocht meemaken, hier in het Nationaal Opera en Ballet. Sindsdien ben ik er regelmatig te gast.
Een paar jaar geleden sloot ik me daarom aan bij de Young Patrons Circle, en leerde een superfijn netwerk kennen van jonge opera- en balletliefhebbers. Met als jaarlijks hoogtepunt natuurlijk het International Young Patrons Gala waar ik in 2023 zelf nog mocht optreden.
En nu mag ik dus bekendmaken dat ik vanaf nu ook deel uitmaak van de SteerCo. De komende jaren zal ik me op verschillende manieren inzetten en adviseren! Maar misschien nog leuker: ik kijk er enorm naar uit om nog veel meer te zien, want als dichter en theatermaker zijn de werelden van tekst, muziek en decor een enorme inspiratiebron voor mij.
📅 First thing up: op zaterdag 20 juni 2026 wordt de rode loper opnieuw uitgerold voor het International Young Patrons Gala. Save the date!

A look back on April 9th 2026 The Young Patrons Backstage Event 🎭
We gave our Young Patrons a peek at what goes on behind the curtain and how our artists prepare for performances. 🌟
We saw the Dutch National Ballet Junior Company x ISH Dance Collective rehearse for GRIMM, premiering on May 9th.
Along with an emotional stage rehearsal from the Opera of Die Passagierin, running until May 2nd.
