jebeliya bedouins of Saint Catherine on film for @kotn ’s tefnut campaign.
jebeliya bedouins are a group of bedouin people who have lived in the mountains of sinai for more than 1400 years. known as the “mountain people” they have a strong connection to the mountains and deep knowledge of the desert. it is believed their ancestors were brought to the region long ago to protect the area and the monastery. today, most live a simple life, growing small and staying closely connected to the mountain.
Sinai has always been more than just a place for me. Shooting a short on the Bedouins of Sinai has been always a dream of mine. & here are The Jebaliya bedouins of Mount Saint Catherine & their connection and how they are shaped by the mountain.
Couldn’t have asked for a better way to do it than alongside my brother @husseinmardini for Kotn’s Tefnut campaign. Turned out to be a full Mad Max shooting experience that’s one of the most fun I’ve had creating.
