Eleanor Dennis wearing the famous ‘Seven Veils Dress’, an adaptation of it, set in 1980s Britain. This dress is part negligé part dolls dress, showing the perverse nature her stepfather Herod has upon his young niece. Design concept developed together with choreographer Aletta Collins and director Mark Ravenhill. A big thank you to Neil Gordon for helping bring this design to life. A story that leans in to the LGBTQ relationships had around chemsex parties. It’s about loss, connection and grief. My set a “poetic realistic” space, set on a new build, in a newly lived in apartment in Canary Wharf. Pallet- greens, blues and greys. With an almost clinical feel, we present the subconscious context of Jude’s situation after recently losing his partner. Superbly performed with John McCrea and Perry Williams. You leave with a deeper understanding of them and find reflections in our own. Excellent writing from Louis and direction from Matthew to form the fantastic creative team. Thank you all who took part in this! Growing up in the 1890’s … Dracula and its legacy at the National Youth Theatre. Finally, the last encounter of Dracula at National Youth Theatre has been and gone. Now for the records, this was such a fantastic show to get creative and exercise our collective imagination, uncovering what Bram Stoker’s Dracula really means and meant. @tattyhennessy clever writing transports audiences to see the roots of the story and the modern day, with a flair of fiction that grates close to affairs happening in daily lives and corruption on a bigger scale. Here are the last images I wanted to share of such great talents on stage. Thank you! @atri.rohan @adigortler , @pouyaehsaei @bexfightsandwrites , @rosiescudder @bgrant994 With a special thanks to designer Naomi Dawson! See list of cast and creatives on later posts. 🫶

KYOTO at the Lincoln Centre in New York 2025. ‘This is all about language’ and ‘I love German theatre’, two quotes from a thrilling show. Here are some of my best bits. KYOTO Saving the Earth is a filthy business. Welcome to the Kyoto Conference Center, December 11, 1997. The nations of the world are in deadlock. Thank you @thestageuk for the Stage Debut Award, I’m so grateful to be part of this year’s winners and nominees, who are so incredibly talented and inspiring. I want to acknowledge the importance of design assistants as the key to the future of theatre design and to sustain a more manageable environment for our craft, development and creativity. A personal thank you to Alistair Smith (Editor of The Stage), Dave Fargnoli (Theatre Critic), and Holly Williams (Journalist, author, and critic for The Stage) who have seen my work for The Passenger at The Finborough theatre and Personal Values at Hampstead Studio earlier this year. It’s amazing to know that our industry recognises the raw beginnings of making theatre as an exciting place. As we explore visual dramaturgy, our job is to simulate experiences, often reading between the lines - making the most of bodies in space through collaboration. It was so great to have this award presented to me by Miriam Buether, an inspiration to us all! ✨✨✨✨ 💫 @miriambuether Thank you to my mum, Ulrike Schmidt for supporting me all the way along with unwavering belief. 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵
