We were so happy to have found a dance school that offers this style, and we were determined to push through with online classes until we could return to the studio. Once back, we attended two aerial/lift workshops and joked about doing backflips and air steps at our wedding one day. After getting engaged in 2021, we challenged Alissa to choreograph two routines for us: a traditional slow dance and a crazy swing routine. Oh man, did she deliver! We suddenly found ourselves learning 6- and 8-count Lindy Hop, Charleston, Collegiate Shag, and five air steps. Our slow dance was simple yet elegant and romantic—with two lifts, of course!
