A personal update: As some know i live with fibromyalgia, which can change on a daily basis and apart from this has lots of umbrella issues. I have been trying my best putting a face on but struggling for months. Aside from this i am now under investigation for some other health issues! I am 36 and feel 80, emotionally accepting these things is extremely challenging. As a single self employed mum with bills today i have tried to push through and continue as i have previously, however my fatigue amongst other symptoms just isn’t allowing it in recent weeks, so i have had to accept i need to make business changes as i still have to work. For the foreseeable i will not be able to travel distances. I appreciate this is disruptive to bookings and trust me i feel like i am letting them down which is pressure i don’t need when i am already stressed. However as so many have said to me - i have to do what is best for myself and my daughter right now. I have always been respectful and as open as i can with people in life but also do not want or have to justify some of what i am dealing with to the public. To those i have let down i can only sincerely apologise and to those who have sent supportive kind message thank you so much.

“Why is pricing so expensive” This came up on a post i saw last week. It got quite a lot of positive response to the comment i left so have decided to do a little post about it. First and foremost of course within any industry or type of wedding supplier costs will vary, thats normal. Even from basic pricing consider experience. Someone who has done a job for 10 year wouldn’t charge the same as someone newly qualified. The wedding industry can get booked from 1-3 years in advance and we have the challenge of forecasting pricing that far down the line. Every business will run their services differently however with myself for bridal hair, generally you book me for the morning until the minute you wish me to leave when 100% ready. It is not just a 45 minute standard hair up appointment. As a bridal hair stylist myself little things to consider in pricing are its a luxury service where more luxury products used to ensure the longevity of your hair for the duration of the day. Anyone ever considered how many curby grips a hair stylist goes through in a year they never see again? Padding to make your hair look bigger and better? Everything costs money! We have the time and consideration of packing up kits from home/salons, transporting, setting up, cleaning and packing back down when finished. Travel and time. It isn’t just the cost of fuel that is involved with this. Our time travelling to and from you is time that other clients cannot be done so must be covered plus wear and tear of our vehicles. To give an example i did over 4000 miles last year just for work on my vehicle. One of the most expensive costs is the amount of insurances required. Some days i am out from 5am to 4/5pm including travel time and professionals also need to eat on these days. There are lots of costs involved and thats why prices are charged the way they are. So to when booking wedding or any services please consider or ask if you are unsure of reasoning.

Your bridal look! When people are planning their bridal hair one of the first questions i ask if do you have your dress? The dress will always be the star of the show but your look is like a jigsaw and you want all of the elements to come together. When you go shopping perhaps take a clip and bobble with you so you can loosely pin/tie hair to have an idea of what a style may look like with that dress. If a dress is strapless or you want it fully up or will you feel too exposed? Whereas if the dress stunning detail you may wish to maximise showing off the detail. Hopefully some useful information when planning 🫶🏻
