I worked on the
@tudthemovie___ as a Production Manager, and the story idea for this project was originally conceived by me, which made the experience even more personal. I won’t lie; it stretched me in ways I wasn’t prepared for. Seeing the idea I created take shape under this kind of pressure taught me a lot.
There were moments on set where I kept saying, “I’d never do production management again in my life.”
That’s how intense it got.
I was stressed. Tired. At some point, I genuinely didn’t know what I was supposed to be doing because everything was happening at once. People fell through, plans shifted, and suddenly we were all covering two or three roles just to keep things moving.
Sometimes I’d finally find a moment to sit or breathe, and the next thing I’d hear was, “PM!”
It was a lot.
My assistant
@yourayoola and I were honestly just moving like zombies by the end of it, showing up, solving problems, keeping things going. And I’m grateful for him, because I couldn’t have managed that experience alone.
I also saw the industry differently. It’s fast, demanding, and not always as structured as you expect. I still don’t fully understand how we were able to shoot a feature film is in 5 days… but It was part of the learning process I guess.
That said, I showed up the best way I could, even while recovering from illness. I made sure the production kept moving and that cast and crew were as comfortable as possible within the chaos.
What I’m taking from this is simple:
a production is only as strong as the team holding it together when things fall apart.
It wasn’t easy.
At all.
