These pieces bring together two newborn veiled chameleons, preserved in different ways. One is diaphonized, so you can see its skeleton, and the other is formalin fixed 🩷🤍
I had this idea about two years ago. The tricky part was keeping both in glycerine, since formalin specimens are usually stored in alcohol.
I had to transfer the babies very slowly so they wouldn’t form bubbles or look dry.
Now they sit together in the same jar, each showing a different way of preserving a body.

We created candles by taking a cast of real, forever sleeping bunny ⚰️🐇🤍
They are made of 100% soy wax.
This is a sculpture-candle
The thin candle element is replaceable (we include three extra with each piece)🕯️

Heloderma skeleton articulation 🦎🦎🦎
The skull scales were the biggest challenge — I cast the head in clay and matched each scale back to its exact place by shape.
