The Mask
This piece was inspired by a part of myself I didn’t fully understand until I met my wife. In many ways, I connected with the mask . When we met, she brought out something different in me. We’d go to comedy shows, laugh endlessly, and she encouraged me to lean into my humor and do more stand up, She introduced me to a different kind of confidence , one built on love, laughter, and truly being seen.
I drew them dancing because that’s what life with her feels like. She inspired me to embrace myself more freely, and this drawing reflects that journey.
This movie growing up was one of our favorite movies growing up as a kid , one of the few movies we can re watch over and over, I showed my dad this drawing and he was like “La Mascara” it made me happy when he said that!!
I got to surprise Carlos with this photoshoot on our anniversary a few weeks ago and wanted to share some of the pictures❤️
We had an amazing weekend together in Austin, it really reminded me how lucky I am to do life with my best friend. I’m so grateful to call you my husband and I’m so excited for all of our new adventures to come! We’re just getting started🥰
