my album ‘are you happy i’m here’ is out now
i was laying next to my boyfriend at the time and i knew something was wrong. i turned to him and asked “are you happy i’m here?” which ultimately led to us breaking up.
the songs on this album come from that terrible, embarrassing place of insecurity no one wants to talk about. some of the songs even border on pathetic behavior!!!! i think that’s what i was trying to figure out while i was writing this- whether or not to indulge my own pathetic hopeless romantic tendencies, even when i know its detrimental to myself. being evolved enough to recognize my own patterns and why i end up in certain situations and acknowledging the role i play in them, but maybe not grown enough yet to do anything about it.
i have a tendency to be the most all or nothing person ever so we’re either in love or i wish i never met you!!! and this album and the writing on it really satisfied my dramatic proclivities lol
some of you may know i’ve been making music for awhile now, so thank you for being here with me still. music exploration is so important to me and i know my sound is changing and evolving and i consider this album to be the bridge between where ive been and where im going. i want my music to be less “chill” and pack more of a punch. before this project i never made a fully “alt” song, so it’s been really fun exploring that lane and giving myself the freedom to.
