PRESS RELEASE From the Office of the North Central Spokesperson, Obidient Movement A CALL FOR THE RESIGNATION OF AN ALLEGED PARTISAN INEC CHAIRMAN: A DANGEROUS PRECEDENT FOR OUR FRAGILE DEMOCRACY The Obidient Movement expresses grave concern over disturbing revelations surrounding the alleged partisan conduct of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Joash Amupitan, SAN. Recent developments involving an X (formerly Twitter) account previously identified as @joashamupitan , which reportedly disseminated hateful and partisan comments against members of the Obidient Movement, have raised serious questions about the neutrality and integrity expected of the office he occupies. The sudden change of the account handle to @sundayvibes00 at the moment of public scrutiny further deepens suspicion and erodes public trust. More troubling are claims that independent digital investigations suggest the account was created in 2022 using an email address allegedly linked to Professor Amupitan — ([email protected]) — an address that reportedly appears in publicly available academic records associated with his time at the University of Jos. These allegations, now widely circulating in the public domain, demand urgent, transparent, and credible clarification. Should Professor Amupitan seek to deny ownership of the said account, Nigerians are left to question whether he will also disassociate himself from the email address allegedly tied to both the account and his professional identity. The weight of these allegations, whether proven or not, has already inflicted significant damage on public confidence in the electoral body. In light of these developments, we state unequivocally that the Nigerian people can no longer repose confidence in the leadership of Professor Joash Amupitan as Chairman of INEC. The perception of bias alone is sufficient to compromise the sanctity of our electoral process. Consequently, we call for his immediate resignation in the interest of preserving institutional credibility and democratic integrity.

PRESS RELEASE TRIBAL POLITICS HAS NO PLACE IN THE POLITICS OF 2027 IN NIGERIA As the North Central Spokesperson of the Obidient Movement, I stand firmly to condemn the recent attempt by Atiku Abubakar to exploit ethnic loyalties ahead of the 2027 elections. His pledge to the Yoruba people of South West Nigeria—that his administration will prioritize them because he married a Yoruba wife—is a clear and divisive play on tribal sentiments that has no place in the politics of a united Nigeria. Nigeria in 2025 and beyond demands leadership that transcends ethnicity and religion. The Obidient Movement rejects the dangerous narrative that equates political appointments and governance with ethnic favoritism. Atiku’s assertion not only undermines the principles of meritocracy but risks deepening the ethnic divide that continues to stall our nation’s progress. We equally condemn the Tinubu administration’s persistent reliance on ethnic politics since 2023. Attempts to play the ethnic card in governance only serve to fragment our nation and distract us from addressing the critical issues of insecurity, economic hardship, and social injustice. As Nigerians prepare to cast their votes in 2027, the Obidient Movement calls on all citizens to reject tribal and religious politics. Our votes must be cast based on competence, character, capacity, and genuine compassion for the Nigerian people who are crying out for effective leadership. The failures of the past, rooted in divisive ethnic and religious appeals, have shown us the destructive path that must not be repeated. We envision a New Nigeria—one where unity, justice, and inclusive development are paramount. It remains within our reach if we collectively commit to elevating candidates who prioritize national interest above tribal loyalty. In 2027, let us vote Nigeria first. Get organized and make election rigging difficulty #GoMERD Signed, Emmanuel Idakwo North Central Spokesperson Obidient Movement

PRESS RELEASE From the Office of the North Central Spokesperson Emmanuel Idakwo Obidient Movement – North Central Nigeria Date: September 24, 2025 --- The Time Is Now: A Call to Action for All Nigerians Fellow Nigerians, Our nation stands at a crossroads. From the North to the South, East to West, the cries of our people echo in pain and frustration. The failures of governance across all sectors—security, healthcare, education, economy, infrastructure, justice—have reached a breaking point. In every community, the consequences of leadership failure are no longer abstract. They are personal. They are daily. They are dangerous. We must speak truth to this moment: Nigeria is bleeding, and silence is no longer an option. As the North Central Spokesperson of the Obidient Movement, I speak not just for myself, but for millions of Nigerians—especially the youth, the underserved, the unheard—who are determined to take our country back from the hands of corruption, incompetence, and impunity. We must remember the courage of our founding fathers and nationalist leaders who stood against oppression, colonialism, and injustice. They did not wait for the “perfect time.” They acted. They sacrificed. They believed in a better Nigeria—and because of them, we gained independence. Now, we must summon the same courage to reclaim our future. The Vision for a New Nigeria Is Not a Dream—It Is a Mission A Nigeria that works for all is possible. A country where your talent, not your connections, determines your success. A nation where no child goes to bed hungry, and no family lives in fear. A democracy where votes count, and leaders are held accountable. But vision without action is fantasy. The first, most powerful tool of action is your Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC). Without it, you surrender your voice. You hand over power to those who abuse it. You make election rigging easy. But with it—when we all rise with one voice—we make election rigging difficult, if not impossible.
