Every term, spaces in our clubs get snapped-up within a few hours from release. We then get inundated with requests for more spaces, more clubs and more projects! We are working on this and we have a very good feeling about 2025!!!! To all of you who missed out this term, we are sorry but please try again next term. We are moving up! We will be leaving our lovely studio by the end of the month but we have been offered an amazing opportunity to use The Cube on Tontine Street to deliver our workshops. We employ young people from the age of 13 to work with us at Young Animators Club. This is not just because we want to give young people employment opportunities, but because they are brilliant and have the power to inspire their own generation of creatives. Body doubling is a technique in which another person’s physical presence helps an individual stay focused on a task. All our staff work on their own creative projects alongside our participants. It works. Sometimes the simple ideas are the most effective! We have established that Folkestone needs more clubs, workshops and events designed for creative, imaginative, neurodivergent, and inspiring young people! @younganimators waiting lists and instant sell-out courses speak volumes. We are working very, very hard to create more opportunities for the young people in Folkestone & the surrounding areas. We need your input! We will be piloting ‘Young Music Producers’, small group courses for young people interested in creating music and soundtracks for events, films and theatre- an opportunity for music lovers who would rather craft and build music than perform. Another exciting new project will be ‘Young Publishers’. This project is still in the planning stage, but we are really looking forward to working with local writers, illustrators, and photographers to support our young people in creating publications for web and print. Please message us with ideas, requests, potential collaborations, or just to let us know if a creative young person in your life would benefit from working with us. We are especially interested in hearing about young people who might struggle to attend groups and clubs due to anxiety, social and communication barriers and those who are struggling to attend school. It is these groups who have benefited the most from our @younganimators clubs, and we are keen to reach out to more vulnerable and isolated young people who could find their people amongst our young and creative groups. #youngmusicians #neuroaffirmingpractice #folkestone #younganimators #youngpublishers
