For my thesis collection, I was inspired by the Japanese film Memories of Matsuko and its portrayal of juxtaposing fantasy and reality, which is a common theme in my work. As the film takes place in the 1970s-90s, I was also inspired by the Japanese Ivy style, which was Japan's fantasy of the American collegiate lifestyle and romanticism of casual wear. This collection blends elements of trompe l'oeil, classic silhouettes, and playful humor.
