shrishti collective has begun their rehearsals with @a_charmed_hour and @darcygilkerson .
the collective are working with @a_charmed_hour 's synthesized motifs and electronic soundscapes blending unique textures of dulcimer, viola and cello.
as we continue to work unconventionally, the collective has slowly discovered a very cool sound as an ensemble. it was a very intriguing and delightful time.
gig is at Brunny Green on 9th June!

thank you @cityofgreaterdandenong and @vespertine.gardens for having us at Palm Plaza this weekend for their 2026 Summer Dandy Vibes Program! we had a fantastic time creating ambient soundscapes to the live recorded sounds of Dandenong.
we negotiated with fellow seagulls and the occasional raven, fought off torrential wind and rain and decided that Nico was a British man (do ask him about this).
upon reflection, I've decided for everyone at the collective that I would like to do more public gigs like this. it's really great to deliver projects to play in public spaces, engage with community and work with like-minded creatives. being paid to perform and have people freely attend makes me feel good!

performance dates are 1st May and 2nd May between 11:45am to 1:45pm at Palm Plaza.

we are collaborating with @jack.whu and will be performing an ambient and free-improvised set using field recordings of the day to day life in Dandenong!

Yona is a violist, teacher and community lover! she enjoys building and fostering community especially for QTIBPOC. she teaches a bunch of little kiddies and brings a more holistic and well-being-oriented practice particularly focussing on personalising lessons for neurodiverse students. Yona believes violas are awesome and if you don't think so, it's a great conversation starter to talk to her.
