My first ever professional shots. What do you guys think? Did you know I was an accountant? I opened Nu Style Salon in 2007 with the intention of managing “only”. My love and passion for the industry grew since then. Two years later got my cosmetology license, which was the greatest life change. From then to now I’ve worked with Hearst Magazine Company as an editorial stylist, done platform work at international shows, traveled nationally and internationally to educate other colorists, developed my own hair brush and Nu Style Salon has two locations. I started doing everything in the field, waxing, manicure cutting, extensions and color. My color clientele grew faster than any other service so I specialized in it. I took so many color and chemistry classes, the more I learned the more I wanted to know more. My feed will let you know I do lots of blondes and color correction but I also emphasize on the importance of hair care and protecting the integrity of your hair. One of the methods I love to install are the Tape In extensions. This client wanted to go from full color platinum to a blended root. The issue is that the extensions she bought to install were platinum on the tape part. If I installed them it wouldn’t look good since the plan was to go darker on the roots. This client was definitely a challenge. The 1st challenge was that her hair history had a few chemical procedures that made the strand delicate. The 2nd challenge was the density and the thickness of her hair. She naturally has thick frizzy hair. So I needed to add lots of moisture and maintain the cortex, lipid layers and cuticles healthy. So this client had lost hope with finding the perfect color for her hair. Her grays were transitioning from 20% gray to almost 100% in certain areas. I found not just the perfect tone but also the perfect hair color her for her. Shine Effect was ideal for her hair type.
